Sometimes collaborations are all we need to get that world view. A larger grander scale of thinking. As artists learn to accept other peoples’ ideas and learn how others tick, they grow themselves, by expanding horizons.

It takes a lot to make it BIG but when you work hours on end with other people on the same wavelength, it feels easier. It feels more fulfilling. It feels more real.

This is what I want.

I had the pleasure of watching Erykah Badu live at the Java Jazz Festival and her band was just feelin’ it, freestylin’. Watch out for that kid, Durand Bernarr, whom she found on YouTube. I probed around for more information on him and discovered what kind of artist he is drawing out from his own personal experiences. Kid has soul.
